From her Maryland roots to her dynamic presence in Atlanta, Trina Braxton is a powerhouse of talent, faith, and entrepreneurial spirit. Known to many as part of the iconic Braxton Family, her story goes far beyond the spotlight. She’s a mother, creator, businesswoman, and inspiration for anyone ready to chase their dreams with purpose.

A Legacy of Music and Family

Born the “knee-baby” of her siblings, Trina grew up in a household where faith and music intertwined. Her parents, both ministers, raised their children as a traveling family choir—first known as The Braxtons or the Braxton Family. Under her mother’s guidance, Trina and her siblings mastered harmonies and stage presence. When her sister Toni Braxton launched her solo career, the family joined as her background singers before forming their recording group.

Music was only the beginning. With a degree in communications and business courses under her belt, Trina set her sights on becoming a full-fledged entrepreneur.

Balancing Business and Life

Trina’s secret to juggling her many roles? Faith and authenticity.

“My faith is the thing that keeps me grounded the most. One of the most important things a person can do is live for what makes them happy—not what makes others happy.”

She believes in pursuing work that sparks joy rather than living by the expectations of others, a philosophy that has carried her through the demands of entertainment, business, and personal life.

The Power of Self-Care

For Trina, self-care isn’t optional—it’s essential.

“Always put your mask on first and then help someone else. Even the Word says that charity begins at home and then spreads abroad.”

Whether it’s a spa day or a spiritual fast, she listens closely to what her mind, body, and spirit need, encouraging others to slow down and do the same.

Inspiration and Paying It Forward

Trina doesn’t aim to be the “next” anyone else. Instead, she strives to inspire the next generation to see themselves in her and believe, “I can do that.” Her hope is that those she influences will carry the torch forward for others to follow.

Daily Motivation

Motivation for Trina starts with simply showing up—even on the days it’s tough to get out of bed. She leans on her faith each morning, asking God for a “God idea, not just a good idea” to fuel her creativity and decision-making.

Fun Beyond the Spotlight

Cooking is Trina’s ultimate form of relaxation. She could spend hours in the kitchen creating dishes—though she jokes that someone else should handle the cleanup. The one household chore she truly enjoys? Folding towels.

Committed to Learning and Growth

Trina believes in lifelong learning and surrounding herself with opportunities for growth. She recently attended the 2025 National Urban League Conference with Spectrum and Stellar TV, where she connected with accomplished African American leaders and felt inspired to continue uplifting her community—especially the youth.

Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

While she’s cautious about offering blanket advice, she encourages one core principle:

“Invest in yourself! Don’t rely on anyone else’s encouragement or experiences. This is your journey and your dream. Don’t let outsiders and naysayers influence your decision-making.”

Never one to stand still, Trina is expanding her professional repertoire. She’s a Realtor with Keller Williams Metro Atlanta and currently pursuing an associate’s degree in culinary arts at Gwinnett Technical College.

“If I am to be better, I must acquire the knowledge and necessary skills to deserve a seat at the table that God has so graciously put before me.”
